LIGHTS
Boston, MA. Photos by Angela DeVietro

As the rush of Bruins fans poured out of TD Garden, a line was forming just a few feet away at the entrance of Big Night Live, where Lights fans were excitedly waiting to get into the venue. Lights made a stop in Boston on her Baby I’m Back Tour for her new album ‘PEP’ that was released at the beginning of April. Walking into the venue you instantly saw at least half the crowd dressed like Lights, in bright yellow, blue, and red colors; the theme of her current ‘PEP’ era.

Interacting with the fans is a key component of any Lights show, as she loves to jump into the crowd multiple times throughout the night. However, Boston seemed to be the last show in a while that was going to happen because of the unfortunate fact that during her jump on the last song she broke her foot. No one even had a clue (until afterward, when she posted on Instagram) because she got back on stage like normal and danced around until the end of the show. For the rest of the tour, she’s now rocking a boot with colorful tape wrapped around it, which still doesn’t stop her from having just as much fun.

During one of her older songs she yelled out to the crowd “If you recognize what's behind me you get 10 Lights points,” as an old video blog played in the background. Some fans in the crowd had been with her since the very start in 2008 when she started posting on YouTube and it was incredible to see them now in 2022 still singing along with everyone who’s joined the fanbase along the way.
